Living the Madness: A March Madness Preview

March 12, 2017

After months of anticipation, my favorite sports weekend of the year is upon us. I give an extensive look at the 2017 bracket, and explain why:

1) This is Arizona's year for a deep run,

2) Oregon won't quite win the South Region,

3) In tourney rematches of regular-season matchups, I like to pick the early loser,

4) Middle Tennessee State is a much better 12-5 upset pick than Princeton,

5) UCLA doesn't play enough defense to win its region,

6) Some high-seeded teams will need to be on upset alert in the Round of 32, and more!

The Times They are A-Changin’

March 8, 2017

In this episode, I explain why transition is the name of the game throughout every major sport in the month of March. Topics include:

-Tim Tebow's transition from quarterback to starting outfielder for the New York Mets for a day in Spring Training.

-Transitions throughout the College Basketball landscape, especially with UCLA, Cal, and Washington of the Pac-12.

-Transitions throughout the NBA, including the Warriors & Raptors dealing with injuries to Kevin Durant and Kyle Lowry.

-Arsene Wenger's fall from grace as Arsenal manager, and why he must go.

-Personal transitions that were the inspiration for this podcast theme.

LAKERS MEGAPOD: Do You Believe in Magic?

February 21, 2017

This show is about a team that has always been meant the world to me: the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers organization has been a nightmare ever since Jerry Buss passed away in 2013. In fact, the last four seasons have been the worst in Lakers history.

But for one day, the Lakers owned national headlines again. Jim Buss, Mitch Kupchak and John Black were unceremoniously shown the door. Magic Johnson has been tapped by Jeanie Buss to be the new director of basketball operations. And respected NBA sports agent Rob Pelinka is expected to come in as the new GM.

I do not know if these moves will make the Lakers contenders again. I do know things cound not get worse than in the Jim Buss era. You must be respected before you can be feared. And for the first time since 2012, the Lakers are ready to be a respected franchise again.

P.S. After reining it in & being neutral for 30 minutes, I finally went rogue and let my passions flow in the final five minutes. Enjoy!

Six Things Sunday- Feb. 19, 2017

February 19, 2017

In this episode of Dom's Daily Dishes, I discuss the following:

1) Why Darrelle Revis SCREWED himself out of millions after knocking two guys unconscious in a fight and getting charged with four felonies.

2) Does Kyrie Irving REALLY believe the world is flat?

3) The NBA All-Star Saturday Night festivties were LAME.

4) To nobody's surprise, College Basketball's bluebloods are having strong seasons.

5) But Gonzaga might be good enough to beat them all!

6) Brutal Champions League Losses for Barcelona and Arsenal reveal a need for new coaching at both clubs.

Live Audio from Pats Rally + Final Thoughts on SB LI

February 10, 2017

After a long hiatus, I'm back.

This pod starts with 16 minutes of live audio from Super Bowl Sunday. My friends and I were not Pats fans, so there was definitely some PG-13 language. It should be a lively and fun listen.

After that, I give about 22 minutes of thoughts on the Super Bowl game. Much of the content centered on things People Forgot About from the game. Things like: James White scoring three TDs, the Falcons getting extreme luck to be up 28-3, Belicheck getting away with throwing the ball near the goal line in OT, and much more. I also expect the Falcons to fall off next year, while the Pats should contend again.

FIRED UP FRIDAY: Baylor Football Deserves Death

February 3, 2017

As more news was released yesterday about Baylor's disgusting culture of victim-shaming and avoiding accountability, it's hard to justify giving Baylor Football anything other than the Death Penalty.

The details are almost too gory to believe, but I get fired up & explain why Baylor's acceptance of rape cannot be tolerated by the NCAA.
